GET OUT OF THE BOAT!
Matthew 14:25-33 (New Living Translation)
About three o’clock in the morning[a] Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw Him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” He said. “Take courage. I am here!” Then Peter called to Him,“Lord, if it’s really You, tell me to come to You, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt Me?”
Way too often, we miss out on the abundant blessings the Lord so desires to bestow upon us. We rely more on our CONSTANTLY CHANGING circumstances, than we do our NEVER CHANGING God!
We allow fear of failure or of the unknown, other people's thoughts and opinions about us, our not wanting to leave our comfort zones, laziness, etc., to keep us stuck in the same place for far too long! Many of us don't even realize that we are held in bondage! We are exactly where the enemy wants us to be.... NO WHERE!
We pray and pray, asking the Lord to take us deeper, to use us in extraordinary ways; we ask Him to show us miraculous signs and wonders.... Yet when He calls out to us, we refuse to GET OUT OF THE BOAT!
~Just think if Peter would have remained still when Jesus called him out! He would have missed out on the amazing opportunity to walk on the water!
And take note my friends: AS LONG AS PETER KEPT HIS EYES ON JESUS, HE CONTINUED WALKING ACORSS THE WATER, BUT AS SOON AS HE TOOK HIS EYES... HIS FOCUS... OFF OF JESUS, HE BEGAN TO SINK! But what amazes me further, is that even though his faith wavered, Jesus' certainly didn't! He remained faithful (as is His very nature) and pulled him up out of the raging waters!
Oh how many times has He done the same for us?! How many times have we doubted Him my friends? How many times have we trusted more on other people, or certain situations than on Him?! Yet even still, He worked things out on our behalf! (Romans 8:28) And I wonder how many times that even though He blessed us, we missed out on His best; because we allowed fear or laziness, or other people, etc., to get in the way of His working in our lives! Hmmm....
Let us STOP missing out on God's best! Take a leap of faith! Trust God to catch you if you fall, to walk with you through the fire, to close the mouths of the devouring lions, to lift you up out of the water if you begin to drown! GET OUT OF THE BOAT!!!!

Many of us need to et out of the boat. I love how Peter was on the boat and when Christ called him to Himself Peter went but the moment he took his eyes of Christ he began to sink. Just like us we sink but because of God's grace He comes to where we are and hold His hand for us to reach it. As He did with Peter.
