CONVICTION VS. CONDEMNATION

CONVICTION VS. CONDEMNATION

John 16:8,11 (Amplified Bible)

8And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment:.....

11About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him.
 Romans 8:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

1THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.(A)

2For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

Con·vict (kn-vkt)

v. con·vict·ed, con·vict·ing, con·victs

v.tr.

1. To make aware of one's sinfulness or guilt.

con·demn (kn-dm)

tr.v. con·demned, con·demn·ing, con·demns

1. To express strong disapproval of:

2. To pronounce judgment against; sentence: condemned the felons to prison.

3. To judge or declare to be unfit for use or consumption, usually by official order: condemn an old building.

Many of us believers are walking around feeling condemned! We feel like as Christians, we should never do anything wrong, and when we do sin, we allow the enemy to beat up on us and fill our minds with his lies! "You are so stupid!" "I'm such a loser!" "You are never going to overcome this sin!" "This is why no one loves me!"

I notice too, that especially as Christian leaders, Satan will pour out a double dose as he constantly reminds us, "YOU of ALL people ought to know better than this!" "You are not worthy to be a leader!" "You are never going to please God!" "You are never going to change! "You act the same way now, as you always have!" "You are such a hypocrite!," and many more lies!

If we aren't careful, and more importantly if we don't know what God says about us in His word, we will believe the enemy of our souls! We will even believe that it is God who is telling us these things! My friends, there is a huge difference between CONDEMNATION-which is what Satan throws at us, and CONVICTION-which is from the Holy Spirit! Condemnation plagues us with so much guilt and can lead us to the pit of despair and depression. It leads us away from Christ. Whereas conviction, causes us to 'see' our sin the way that God does, and leads us to confess and repent. Yes, it leads us TO Christ. It allows us to move on knowing that we have received God's forgiveness!

So whenever you are playing over and over again in your mind, what you did wrong and how awful you are, etc., after having already repented, cast those lies down and feed on the Word of God! Meditate on scriptures about God's love, mercy and forgiveness, and speak them out loud to the enemy! Remind Satan WHOSE you are and WHO you are in Christ!

~Now this message is for the true believers in Christ! Those who TRULY seek after Him! Those who admittedly do slip at times, but are quick to repent and try again! Those who TRULY love the Lord. Not those who think they can continue living in a state of sin, and STILL receive God's forgiveness! God cannot be mocked, my friends! Willfully sinning is like CRUCIFYING CHRIST all over again! Yes, He is loving and wants to see that NO man perish, but that is why He sent His Son! His grace is NOT cheap! He paid the MOST EXPENSIVE price one could ever pay for you- HIS LIFE! All you have to do is believe and receive Him TODAY while it is still time! God knows your heart. You can fool man some of the time, but you can never fool God! Get it right my friends! So if you are living in a state of willful disobedience, and you feel CONDEMNED, maybe just maybe, it's because you are! Choose this day who you will serve... God or Satan... There is nothing in between!
