Joshua 24:15 (New King James Version)
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Each day we are all faced with many choices! From the time we wake up in the morning until we go to bed at night.... choices! We have to choose what we will wear, what we will eat for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, where we will go, how we will get to where we are going, who we will visit, who we will call. More serious choices may be where we will live, who we will marry, where we will send our kids to school, where we will work, etc. Choices...
A more difficult choice may include how we will respond to negativity. For example, a driver cuts us off in traffic, an unruly child, a disrespectful spouse, or a difficult boss or co-worker. We CHOOSE whether or not we will allow other people's negative attitudes and actions to dictate how we will react! Will we walk away from them, offer a kind word in response to their hurtful ones to us, or will we lose our tempers and behave just as poorly as they? Will we use this time as an opportunity to allow the Light of Christ to shine through the darkness, or will we ourselves become a part of the darkness. It's literally right or wrong, God or Satan. No in between. What will YOU choose? Sure we sometimes fall for the 'trap' but thank GOD He is willing to give us another chance to get it right! Choices...
When we refuse to give in to the bitterness and the anger that we feel; the negativity which surrounds us every day on every side, we are heaping burning coals upon our enemies' heads! We are my friends, allowing the Light to shine upon the darkness of our offenders soul and exposing their folly. They will most likely feel bad whether they admit it to us or not, and oftentimes they will apologize. Oh sure, some will rebel and act worse because of the conviction they feel and just the fact of knowing they are wrong, BUT they may be too prideful and rebellious to admit this. They however are not rebelling against you, but against God! It's your job to pray for them and to continue to treat them kindly REGARDLESS-or stay away from them and love them from a distance! God will deal with them accordingly. We are not to repay evil for evil. We are to trust that God will work in them in His own timing. "Vengeance is MINE!" saith the Lord!" (Hebrews 10:30) Choices...
When we try to repay someone back for hurting us, we become the very thing we dislike! We are just as bad-if not worse than they! Worse? Yes! Because as Christians, we should know better! We have to remember that we are not actually fighting against flesh and blood, but against the devil and his demons! (Ephesians 6:12) People (including us at times) are often pawns in the devil's hands and we don't even realize it! So if we look at all offenses as coming from Satan, then it will be easier to forgive our offenders for the hurt and pain! Now, this is not to say that PEOPLE should not be held accountable for their wrongs! We have to remember that we have a CHOICE whether or not we will allow Satan to tempt us to sin. Whether or not we will mistreat others, and again- when we ourselves are mistreated, how we react! Choices...

I know treating someone kindly who has treated us so unkindly is SO HARD! But if it were impossible, the Lord wouldn't command us to do it! Yes, it's impossible when we walk according to the flesh, BUT with God, ALL things are possible! (Mattew 19:26) When we ask Him to show us how to 'see' others the way that He sees them and to teach us how to love unconditionally as He does; and how to forgive as He does, He will grant us those desires since we are praying in alignment with His will! (I John 5:14) When He sees us making an effort-a good CHOICE, in obedience to His word, He will change our hearts towards others! I'm NOT all the way there yet, but I am a work in progress and I CHOOSE to follow God. I am so determined to be that Light in this dark world for Christ! Choices...
We are all faced with a REALLY BIG choice in life! This in fact is the most IMPORTANT choice we will ever make! Jesus Christ and eternity in His Kingdom, or Satan and eternity with him in hell! Again, there is NO in between! Jesus suffered and died on that cross on Calvary, was buried in the ground and resurrected to eternal life; so that WE would be set free from the power or sin and the penalty of death and hell which our sins deserved! Satan's job is to steal, kill and destroy! He is busy trying to win as many souls as possible! Misery loves company and because he knows his time is very short, he is doing all he can to bring us down! He is trying to get us to doubt God and His promises. He is trying to fill us with so much fear because he knows that in the face of fear, faith can't exist! He is busy trying to get us to destroy one another and he is playing on our minds like a playground! He plays on our weaknesses and uses them against us! He is doing ALL he can to sway us away from the Truth so we will end up in hell with him! He's out to get you in any way he can! Be alert!!!! But I have to ask you: WHO WILL YOU CHOOSE...PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY!!!! AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE ALREADY CHOSE THE LORD!!!! Choices....
