The bible in MANY places warns us to BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS! When we hear these warnings, many look to those who carry the title 'Prophet' to be the only ones deceiving people! But that is not so. These people can carry the titles of 'Apostle,' 'Teacher,' 'Minister,' 'Evangelist,' Bishop,' 'Reverend,' 'Pastor,' etc. Some may NOT even use a title, but lead (or should I say mislead) others nonetheless. These men and women will come to us appearing as 'angels of light' but really, they are messengers of Satan! (2 Corinthians 11:14)

I'm going to share with you a few types of these 'prophets' to be on the look out for!

First, we have the more obvious of these 'prophets.' These are those who will flat out deny Christ! They teach their own 'gospel' message! These 'prophets' will teach in direct opposition to the Word of God! (1 John 4:1-2, 2 John 1:7-10, 2 Corinthians 11:4) Many of them are under the control of the Jezebel Spirit (which by the way, this seducing spirit is not always women! Men can carry this spirit too). They use manipulation, control, flattery, intimidation and fear to lead their followers astray! They often use sex to control their people and make them believe it's okay to have more than one wife, or to sleep with one another's spouses', etc. They will even sleep with and marry CHILDREN! These are cults and many of their followers are so blinded, that they will go to such extremes like committing suicide to prove their 'faith' and 'loyalty!' Some will teach about Christ, but upon closer inspection you'll see that was just to lure the people in because soon it becomes quite evident that the real purpose is SELF glorification and SELF gratification- and money! They mix just enough of the truth with their lies, because that is how the enemy deceives us!

Next, we have those 'prophets' who will only speak on the WRATH and JUDGMENT of God, but they leave out the love and mercy! Yes, they will try to SCARE the 'hell' out of you by making you believe that God is this unjust Task Master who will send you straight to hell if you don't follow a bunch of man-made rules and regulations, and additions THEY themselves have added to the bible! They will use the Word of God meant to make you free, to KEEP or PUT you in bondage! The enemy operates through these 'prophets' by using aggression, intimidation and fear! Often times,the Jezebel spirit operates through them strongly as well! There aim is to manipulate and control! These people are more impressed with their self-given titles and the so-called status and authority that the title brings them; as opposed to seeking to please GOD and caring for His flock!

Last but NOT least, there are those who I believe are the MOST DANGEROUS! These are those influenced and guided by a spirit of flattery! Yes, those who appear to be very humble and kind, loving and caring! But when you listen to them closely, you'll find that they only speak of the LOVE and MERCY of God, but they leave out the wrath and judgment! All of their messages are about God's GOODNESS and how He wants us to be blessed and prosperous, and how much God loves us and forgives us for all we do, etc. The messages are encouraging and many follow hard after them because these 'prophets' make them feel good about themselves....and their sins! Yes, they preach only what the 'itching ears' WANT to hear but not what they NEED to hear! (2 Timothy 4: 1-5) What is wrong with that you ask?! I'll tell you what is wrong with that: They are misleading the flock by not teaching the ENTIRE Truth! We are to teach the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH! Leaving out what we think people will NOT want to hear, or what will offend; is equal to a LIE! They are teaching about heaven, but leaving out the realities of hell! They are making God's grace appear to be cheap! This is one of Satan's best schemes! He'll even use God's goodness against us, because if he can get us to believe that we can do anything we want, with no consequences; we won't fear a thing and will end up in hell along with him! Sure God is Love, God is Good; but God can NOT be mocked! No, He does not wish that any man should perish, but that is why He Sent Jesus to save all of those who would call upon Him! Those who would receive Him TRUTHFULLY into their hearts! Those who would truly love and obey Him! (John 14:15)

~Don't misunderstand my friends: We are NOT saved according to ANY amount of works we do or don't do! We are saved through grace, by faith in Jesus Christ! But with TRUE faith, good works will be PRODUCED! How can they not when we have the Holy Spirit of God residing INSIDE of us?! We undergo a spiritual heart transplant! Change is inevitable- IF you are TRULY saved! (James 2:17, Ephesians 2:8)

WAKE UP PEOPLE! Time is shorter than we think! There is much work to be done! The harvest is ripe for the picking, but the laborers are so few! Too many are fast asleep! (Matthew 9:37-38) Those of us who are true teachers of the Word had better be sure we are teaching the TRUTH! (James 3:1) The ONLY sure TRUTH is the infallible WORD OF GOD! (2 Timothy 3:16) My friends, we don't get to pick and choose which scriptures we like and follow those, and those we don't like, disregard them! We take the bible as a whole, or put it down altogether! We need to be sure that we are spending time in the Word and in prayer DAILY and sitting still long enough to HEAR the Holy Spirit speak to us! Submit ALL to God while there is still time! Tomorrow isn't promised to ANY of us, so STOP taking life for granted! This isn't all there is! There is an ETERNITY that awaits you after this! Heaven or Hell.. NO IN BETWEEN! Be sure you are following SOUND TEACHING and STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED! Don't depend on your Pastor or any other teacher to tell you the truth! KNOW IT FOR YOURSELF SO YOU CAN BEWARE OF WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHING! (2 Timothy 2:15)
