DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR "RUTH"

DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR "RUTH"

Ruth 1:15-18 (Amplified Bible)

15And Naomi said, See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.

16And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. [a]Your people shall be my people and your God my God.

17Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts me from you.

18When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said no more.

There are times when we all feel so alone! We think back on how many people surrounded us, that we called 'friend' or 'family', who promised to always be there; but who are now long gone!

But the Lord reminded me of "Ruth." "Ruth" is that person-or those people, who may or may not be close to you; but those the Lord has chosen to come alongside you, to assist you in fulfilling your dreams! Those sent by God to help you through your storms, and to encourage you and support you when you need someone the most! Yes your "Ruths" are those who would be there by your side, if you'd only call upon them!

But oftentimes, "Ruth" is someone you have looked over because you didn't expect them to be the one who God has chosen to assist you! Those "Ruths" may feel as if WE have forgotten or maybe even left them! You see, we have a tendency to expect so much from others, but we have to remember to check ourselves! We want others to constantly reach out to us, but are WE reaching out to others?! Hmmm.... Ask yourself: "Is there anyone who may feel neglected by me? Someone who may have reached out to me, but I didn't reach back towards them? "Is there anyone I am overlooking who is right in front of my face? "Could there be a "Ruth" that God has sent my way, but who isn't 'wrapped in the packaging' that I expected? Might I be looking past my "Ruth?"

To all of my "Ruths" I say: "THANK YOU!" (and by now you know who you are as I have made it known to you, but IF I'm overlooking someone, please let me know, as I don't want to miss out on any of my blessings.) I am so very blessed to have you my "Ruths," in my life! Many of you were the ones I would have least expected to be here by my side, because we weren't very close. I had been surrounded by so many who have known me for much longer, or even all of my life; so many I had looked up to and had expected to reach out or support me, but who have left my side! So many I thought would be in my corner, but the Lord revealed to me otherwise! But by that same token, there are many of you who have been there for a long time, or all of my life and who have never left my side, and to you I say a special "THANK YOU!" I love you ALL, even those who are not here now! But I pray greatness and blessings upon you and all of those that are meant to be on your journey! Maybe we will cross paths again, maybe not. But either way, I'd like to say: "THANK YOU" too!

But to my "Ruths," you will always, always hold a special place in my heart because no matter what, you remained by my side! I thank God for you! Be blessed!
