I just got finished having my daily alone time with the Lord this morning, and the Holy Spirit spoke so clearly to me: "SO MANY KNOW *ABOUT* ME, BUT THEY DON'T REALLY *KNOW* ME." See my friends, MANY OF US are "SUNDAY SAINTS," or "CRISIS CALLERS." You know, those who only PAY ATTENTION to God on SUNDAYS or CALL UPON Him when in great ...NEED? We often treat GOD the same way- OR EVEN WORSE than we do MANY people we see in the STREETS or even those in our CHURCHES that we've 'known' for YEARS! We ONLY speak to them on SUNDAY-IF we happen to PASS BY or MAKE EYE CONTACT with them. "See ya next SUNDAY or (maybe Wednesday)," we often say to them! We MAY even ASK THEM FOR PRAYER when we are 'really' going through a HARDSHIP; but that's basically the EXTENT of it! But there are even SOME things that we wouldn't DARE ask them or ANYONE that we DON'T REALLY *KNOW!* But we have NO PROBLEM doing this VERY thing to GOD! We go to Him as IF He's a "MAGIC GENIE IN THE SKY," only there for OUR desires; but when life is GOOD, WE WAY TOO OFTEN FORGET ABOUT HIM!
Oh as I'm typing this, I feel the HOLY SPIRIT saying to me that MANY times we treat Him like a ONE NIGHT STAND! Oh we treat GOD like a PROSTITUTE or a PIMP (depending on our need)! We will 'GIVE' HIM a little TIME or a little AFFECTION (worship) or whatever it is we BELIEVE is pleasing to Him-BUT ONLY IF He will GIVE US what WE WANT/NEED! And then we have the AUDACITY to wonder WHY many of our prayers go UNANSWERED?! Maybe if we would SEEK GOD simply for WHO HE IS and NOT for WHAT HE GIVES, and truly GET TO KNOW HIM-we'd find that MANY things we are asking for are UNIMPORTANT and those IMPORTANT things we'll receive! Hmmmm.... BELOVEDS, WE MUST STOP PROSTITUTING/PIMPING GOD! OH FATHER, FORGIVE US! Selah!
{Matthew 6:33}- But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
{James 4:2-3}- You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
{John 14:7-10}- 7 “If you had KNOWN ME, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
