WHAT RESURRECTION DAY (EASTER) IS REALLY ABOUT!
(John 3:16)- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
~As we begin our celebration of our Lord and Savior's RESURRECTION DAY, let us not forget Who and what this day is about! This day is not about the chocolate bunnies or other goodies found in an 'Easter' basket; it's certainly not about a man made 'Easter' bunny that lays colored eggs! It's not about 'Easter' egg hunts, going to church (for some that's once or twice a year), the pastor, or anyone else! No, it's not even about the children having a good time! (Read Matthew chapters 26-28 for full story)......
What Resurrection Day is about my friends, is our Lord and Saviour, JESUS CHRIST! It's about His GREAT SACRIFICE! Yes, His battered and torn body as He hung upon that cross (some say tree, but it doesn't matter, it's the sacrifice) on Calvary! Yes, it's about what Christ our Saviour, did for you...and for me!
Oh how it must have grieved the Father beyond description of all words, to witness His Son, the Living Word, as He took upon Himself the punishment that we deserved!
How Jesus must have felt to feel His Father had left His side; how He must have felt to feel the physical pain-as well as the pain inside! Talk about humility, free from all pride....We will never ever understand just how deep nor just how wide; that love He has for us-our Master, and our Guide! (Ephesians 3:17-19)
And while enduring such unimaginable pain; He at that very moment, forgave the 'causes' of His pain (US)! GLORY TO HIS NAME! He gave up His spirit and He died that very day..Oh, things would never be the same!
No things would never be the same... 3 days later Jesus rose up from the grave! And on that RESURRECTION DAY, there was much glory, honor and praise! And not only here upon this earth, but all throughout the heavens knowing that FROM DEATH, JESUS WAS RAISED! I can just imagine the angels rejoicing with the Father, since now the souls of mankind would be saved!
All the souls of those who would believe in what the Saviour did! All those who would receive Him and allow Him to set them free from the power of sin!
Talk about true love, the greatest love, unconditional love, the purest love, love like no man has ever known! Real love, glorious love, love that poured out His Blood, love only Jesus has shown!
Glory, glory, glory-Hallelujah OUR SAVIOUR LIVES! Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb of God, THANK YOU FATHER, OUR SAVIOUR LIVES! Thank You Lord, for giving me the Greatest Gift that anyone could ever give!
THIS MY FRIENDS, IS WHAT RESURRECTION DAY (EASTER) IS REALLY ABOUT!
~Many say that the gift of eternal life (receiving Jesus) is FREE; but while that may be true to a certain extent as it costs us nothing, we must remember: IT COST GOD EVERYTHING! Let us not take His love, His gift, His grace, His mercy, His life nor His death for granted! Let us not take HIM for granted! Although we could never pay Him back for all He's done, let us live lives worthy of our high calling in Christ Jesus! (Ephesians 4:1)
(Romans 10:8-11)- But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
