(Jeremiah 17:9)-“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
(Matthew 5:8)-"Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God."(Psalm 51:10)-"Create in me a clean heart, O' God. Renew a loyal spirit within me."
The word 'pure' comes from the Greek word 'katharos,' which means "to clean out"- much like a laxative. Stop allowing all the 'messy' thoughts, sights and sounds of the world to fill your mind! Those very thoughts, sounds and images become a breeding ground in your heart; planting seeds of unrighteousness-and eventually giving birth to all kinds of evil 'fruit': adultery, jealousy, envy, rage, quarrelings, divisions, factions, and the like. STOP carrying around what God wants discarded!
(2 Corinthians 10:3-6)-"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4-For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5- casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6- and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
We have to STOP dwelling on all of the negative junk that fills our minds daily! We have to STOP believing the enemy's lies! As the Word of God tells us, cast them down by refusing to think on them! BUT we have to also replace those negative thoughts with positive ones from the Word of God! It comes down to this: WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE? The Lord's or Satan's?
What you fill your mind and heart up with, will determine your destiny my friends! Don't you see?! Your THOUGHTS, become your WORDS. Your WORDS, become your ACTIONS, and your ACTIONS, become your DESTINY! There is much power in our words, but every word, first begins as a thought! So there is great power in our thinking as well! We have to renew our minds, by spending time in the Word of God daily!
(Romans 12:2 NLT)-"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
No wonder David prayed and asked the Lord, "Create in me a clean heart!" He was asking God to give his heart a laxative! He wanted God to show him any area of his heart that needed cleansing! Anything that was not pleasing to God, he wanted removed! He wanted the Lord to purify him! We would be wise to pray the same prayer!
